Typed letter from National Coal Board to Mr Charlie W. Jones of Trethomas, advising him on his award of "the British Empire Medal in recognition of your outstanding services to the coal industry". Dated 1 January 1954.

Mr Jones was involved in the explosion at Bedwas Colliery, October 1952.
