Cup, tea and saucer

Teacup and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; the cup standing on a straight sided foot rim, indented above, curved sides flaring at lip; high closed c-scrolled handle; saucer on a rounded foot rim, slightly curved spreading sides; both decorated with set pattern 164; transfer-printed and filled in enamels with the Mandarin pattern, in the 'famille rose' palette - a village scene of a seated mandarin and others in front of an oriental house; a gilt scrolled border with small cartouches of landscapes in iron red alternating with larger cartouches of birds perched on branches, against a blue sky, above purple trees; gilt band to the cup's foot rim and gilt handle.
