Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Pot, coffee

Coffee pot, hard-paste porcelain, pear-shaped body with short foot-rim, beak spout ornamented with moulded scrolls around the base, wish-bone handle with scale moulding along its length; decorated in polychrome enamels with to either side of the body panels finely painted with a coastal landscapes featuring figures and shipping, the landscapes framed by rococo scrolls and diaper patterns in soft blue enamel and gilt, around the rest of the exterior sides scattered floral sprigs, a gilt edge to the lip-rim, the spout and handle picked out in gilt.
