Witts, Brian (Mr)

The artist worked at West Cannock and Littleton Collieries in the Cannock Chase coalfield as an electrician for 14 years and was a member of the Power Group NUM. He did the poster because he wanted to show how the industry was closed down after 1984/85 and to show who was responsible and how the British people were misled. The Savage Pen was a nickname he was given at the colliery due to several poems he produced about colliery management etc.
