Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Sugar bowl and cover, soft-paste porcelain, creamy translucency, lustrous glaze, greeenish and crackled where collected at the foot. Circular, standing on a shallow rounded foot, flattened bun-shaped body with pronounced mould lines, shallow lip containing the shallow domed cover with a pinecone finial, two upturned loop handles. Decorated with a gilt band to the foot and neck, the lower part of the body white, with a gilt band of pendant loops and rays, the remainder with a gilded ground reserved with six ovals painted with small bouquets of flowers, with two rows of pink roses between, arranged four and three, waved wreath of gilt foliage at the neck, the handles gilded; cover similarly decorated with four ovals of flowers on a gilt band with roses arranged three and two, central circular reserve edged with the pendant loops and rays found on the lower part of the sugar bowl and painted with a bouquet of flowers from which issues the partly gilt (restored) finial.
