Mr. J. Arthur Jones and William J. Read being presented with their Daily Herald Order of Industrial Heroism framed certifcates and medal on the 24 May 1958 at Pontypool Rugby Football Club.
Issued to Mr J. Arthur Jones who, with Mr William J. Read (who was also awarded a medal), attempted to rescue John Cureton from a roof fall at Tirpentwys Colliery on 13 February 1958.
