Costrel
Costrel of red earthenware, standing on a rounded foot rim, globular with a long tapering neck, ending in a single baluster below a wide rimmed circular mouth; four loop handles attached to the body, two at the shoulder, two above the foot rim, the two at the shoulder sloping upwards, the two at the base, sloping downwards, indicating them to be for the purpose of suspension; covered with a rich yellow glaze, with a broad brown stripe around the lower body and dark brown banding around base of neck and below mouth.
