Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Building stone, much weathered. Above the panel is a crescent or disk flanked by two Capricorns, the badge of the Second Legion, and at either end a pelta-ornament.
Site Name: Caerleon, Newport: Gwent
Notes: Found in, or before, 1835 near the Hanbury Arms Inn. It may have come from the abutment of a bridge over the Usk leading from High Street towards the south-east. On the other hand, the thinness of the slab suggests that it may have come from some river-embankment.
