Neolithic stone axehead
The end of the butt is blunted, probably having been battered down, and may originally have been pointed; plump oval in section. The surfaces have been ground only in the lower part of the axehead, the degree of polish becoming finer towards the cutting edge, which is in good condition.

Notes: Item found in a pile of stones in the donor's garden near the junction of the Penhow - St. Brides and Penhow - Carrow Hill roads (Manor Farm).
