Cruet stand, hard-paste porcelain, roughly circular shape with straight-sided foot-rim and curving sides, ornate rococo foliate moulding to the interior sides of the stand, a shaped edge to the rim, to either side of the stand the rim rises into twin elaborate rococo scrolled horizontal loop handle, to the centre of the stand rises a rococo moulded pedestal on which sits a naked male figure with a flowing drape partially wrapped around him, the figure balances on his head a round basket with perforated sides and scrolled rim, to the interior of the stand evenly spaced around this central pedestal are six raised rims to hold cruets; the figure delicately painted in naturalistic enamels, the drape painted with floral sprigs on a pink ground, the pedestal finely painted in puce with, within a scrolled panel to the rear of the figure, a maritime landscape with sailing boats on water, further floarl sprigs in puce around the rest of the pedestal, the interior of the stand finely painted in gilt with patterns of foliate scrolls surrounding the six raised rims, the raised moulded areas to the sides and rim of the stand, the handles, the pedestal and the rim of the basket painted gilt. The pedestal, the figure and the handles broken and repaired.
