Silk wedding dress (bodice, skirt and trimming). Worn by Mrs Gertrude Hire on her wedding day in Swansea, 1908. Boned bodice is cut on lines of blouse and has a high collar and yolk of net with needle threaded motifs. Cream satin ribbon and frill of net mark low neckline of blouse. Sleeves gathered horizontally from shoulder to cuff. Skirt is cut with train and frills of lace beneath. Giirdle of pleated ribbon.
