Under a double canopy, dext. Bishop William of Wykeham of Winchester (founder, 1367) in prayer, his staff beside him: sin. St Swithin, holding his staff and giving a blessing. To either side, under higher canopies, dext. St Peter with his key, sin. St Paul with his sword. The plinth is inscribed: Wykeham : eps : fndator. Above, within a canopied niche, the Annunciation: the archangel Gabriel standing and holding a scroll inscribed: aue maria, greets the Blessed Virgin; beneath the scroll, a lily flower emerging from a vase. In base, a shield: two chevronels between three roses, WILLIAM OF WYKEHAM; supporters: two lions sejant guardant.
