YEWMOUNT (2) (859 gt) : Built 1939 by Scotts of Bowling, for John Stewart & Co (Shipping) Ltd, Glasgow. 1947 - Bought by Queenship Navigation Co Ltd., London, and renamed SAXON QUEEN. 1959 - Bought by Link Line Ltd, Belfast, and renamed LURCHER, managed(?) by Coast Lines Ltd, Liverpool. On the 21st January 1961, she collided with the 8878 gross ton bulk carrier STAMATIOS G. EMIRICOS whilst on passage from Liverpool to Glasgow, and sank. On the 30th March, she was raised and abandoned in the Mersey. In 1962, she was sold to H. Pounds of Portsmouth for scrap but it wasn’t until 1964, that she was finally towed to T.W.Ward's at Preston for breaking.
