Jug and cover

Jug and cover, soft-paste porcelain, the main body has straight sides that widen at the base and narrow toward the neck, vertical cylindrical neck that flares out slightly at its join to the main body and with a high pouring spout that has a shaped edge, ring handle that is moulded to the body from its lower terminal, footring, bell-shaped cover with a bell-shaped finial; the edge of the cover is gilded and it is painted with a flower spray on a yellow ground, the finial is banded with a wide gold border, the rim of the jug is painted with a wide red band clobbered with short gold horizontal lines and gold dots, the front of the jug is painted with a large blue flower with gold decoration framed by two stars and sitting against a backdrop of flowers on a yellow ground.
