Programme, theatre

Theatre programme for the play ' 'The Lady's Not for Burning' by Christopher Fry In 1949, performed at the Globe Theatre in 1949. This was Richard Burton's first role on a West End stage in which he played an orphaned clerk, cast by actor and director, John Gielgud. Richard bought 40 tickets for his family from Wales and for the Afan Glee male voice choir to attend one of the performances! The production later enjoyed a successful run on Broadway in 1950 with the same cast.
