Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Journal written by Gaynor Madgwick (neé Minett) during her teenage years in the 1970s, she called it ‘My True Life Story… a sad story’. Gaynor was eight years old and in Panglas Junior School on the day of the Aberfan disaster on 21 October 1966. She was pulled from the rubble by her grandfather but lost a brother and a sister. Gaynor started writing the journal in her school exercise book, during lessons, when she attended Afon Taf secondary school, Troedyrhiw: 'I just could not stop pouring my heart out into this little book'.
