Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Hunting jacket; made from dark blue-green wool (possibly faded from black); fabric = woven with raised nap; single-breasted and fastened with 5 gold-coloured buttons; 1 smaller button at each cuff, 2 buttons at centre back waist; all cast with capitals 'VCH'. Flap pockets at either side of waist, with separate black fabric covered button fastening below flap, pocket lined with brown twill fabric (cellulosic). 3 interior pockets: one on proper right, 2 on left. 2 larger pockets to be fastened with black fabric covered button and lined with brown twill as above; smaller slit pocket (below) on left side. Jacket lined along sides (up to shoulders) with black tabby woven fabric (wool yarns one direction, cotton yarns the other direction). Grey-black felt interlining (lining and interlining are quilted together in area surrounding the arm holes). Sleeves lined with brown cotton twill fabric. Additional piece of fabric (same as outer), as well as strip of brown tabby linen fabric stitched to centre back of waist to reinforce buttons stitched to rear waist. A number of edges of outer fabric are left unfinished / raw.
