Rule book

Richard Thomas & Co. Ltd

"Rules of the Richard Thomas & Company Limited Contributory Pension and Life Assurance Scheme for Standing Wage Employees Part 1". 21 pages in blue card covers. Inserted at front is a covering letter to scheme members dated 22 July 1949. At rear is a certificate of membership of the scheme dated 1946 made out to David Huw (Alun) Ebenezer, born 1924, who worked as a draughtsman initially at South Wales Steel Works, Llanelli and then at Grovesend Steel Works, Gorseinon. Also at rear is a covering memo stating that his membership certificate had been updated to 1950.

The text of the booklet on page 2 states that the scheme commenced on 1 June 1943, so this booklet is the first edition and embodies the initial rules of the scheme, with a sheet glued-in before page 1 providing updates to 31 May 1948.
