Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A much used rubbing stone made from a small, elongated pebble of quartzite. Every surface is slightly polished and both ends are markedly faceted. At two points, however, traces of polish are lacking, namely along the left-hand bottom edge and the right-hand top edge. In the latter case, a very slight dishing suggests that this edge had been used for whetting after the stone had been used for polishing, and a similar explanation may also hold for the other edge.
