Riza-yi Safawi (Active 1544 A.D.)
Bowl, of stone-paste, standing on a broad foot rim, the lower body rounded then rising steeply and flaring, ending in a rounded, heavily chipped outer rim; the whole covered with a thin turquoise glaze, then over-glazed or painted with a thicker, lustrous dark apple-green with simple stylised flower heads, some bud-forms with stems, others open flower heads, reserved in the turquoise on the interior and exterior body, an area of scrolled patterning to one interior side, the turquoise showing through the green glaze in small crescent shapes; throwing rings visible to the base; the whole cracked and repaired.
