Built 1943 as a North Sands type vessel, FORT ASSINIBOINE by Burrard Dry Dock Co., North Vancouver, for MoWT (managed by H. Hogarth & Sons, London - Wm. Brown, Atkinson & Co, from 1946 ). 1948 – Transferred to Laurentian Overseas Shipping Ltd., Montreal, and renamed LAURENTIAN LAKE. 1951 –Same owner, but now managed by Fern Hill Steamship Co. , London. 1954 – Sold to Monovar Cia. Nav., Monrovia and renamed OLYMPOS (managed by Coulouthros Ltd). 1960 – Sold to Cia de Nav. Cerra Guaca SA, Andros, and renamed PENTELI II. 1963 – Sold to Corona Cia Nav., Andros, and renamed GIALIA (managed by Coulouthros Ltd). 1963 – Sold to Marimperio Cia Nav., Piraeus. She was broken up in China in 1967.
