Iron Age antler handle
Fragments of antler tine, with neatly rounded ends, possibly hollowed out longitudinally to form a tube. THe surface is smoothed and polished and decorated with an incised lattice pattern with a transverse groove defining the end. The remains of at least 5 small circular perforations, probably for securing, survive but there is no evidence of the central perforation illustrated. Decorated handles have been recovered from Iron Age sites
