Evans, D.J. & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1862 - 1870)
Dish, earthenware, oblong shape with rounded-off corners, flat base with two stepped ridges around it, deep curving sides and spreading rim, two shallow notches to the rim at either end of the dish; transfer-printed in brown with to the centre of the well the 'Verandah' pattern, a design of an oriental fence on a patch of ground surrounded by sprays of spreading oriental flowers and foliage, in the background right a small European landscape vignette showing buildings by the side of a lake with mountains in the background, border to the rim of an oriental fence pattern issuing spays of flowers and foliage which spread down the sides of the well.
