White short night shirt, sleeves gathered at shoulder and into cuffs, gathering also all around turned-down collar. Ruffles around edge of collar and at cuffs. Three mother-of-pearl buttons: fastening at neck and one on each cuff. All hand-stitched. Initials 'MAH' embroidered (very fine cross-stitch) on proper left beside neck opening using red thread (presumably stands for 'Mary Ann Harry', who used the shirt), c.1800.
