Tea-caddy and cover

Tea caddy and cover in hard-paste porcelain, rectangular flat base rising to curved shoulder and cylindrical bottle neck, the cover domed with a raised circular knop; bulk export ware painted in underglaze blue with 'Nankin' landscapes featuring pagodas and trees separated by a river, a man riding a horse across a bridge whilst shielded by a fan-bearer, a fisherman on a boat, across the curved upper shoulder and on the knop is an elaborate composite border pattern of scales, flowers, foliage and trellises, plain bands of gilding to neck, shoulder, foot and the rim and knop of the cover added in London.
