Fragmented Bronze Age pottery
Six fragments of Bronze Age pottery recovered during archaeological excavations of Tafarn Diflas tumulus near Pendine, Carmarthenshire. The fragments are too small and poorly preserved do determine the vessel form. Four of the small fragments have traces of shallow incised linear grooves on the outer surface, potentially representing applied decoration, however it is also possible that these were caused by the deposition environment. The pottery fragments were recovered from a presumed cremation deposit, therefore it is likely the vessel was a cinerary urn.
