Pennant
Pennant commemorating the 5th anniversary of the 1979 revolution in Nicaragua. Printed with the inscription: 'FETSALUD VIVA EL ANIVERSARIO DE R.P.S'.
Small shield-shaped pennant. Undyed cream tabby woven fabric printed in black and red (as well as small areas of green and blue) with a red border around the unfinished edges. The fabric appears to be stiffened with starch (?). Single turn back at top edge, machine stitched using white thread. A metal wire has been inserted into the resulting channel with the ends curved to form an eye. A multi-coloured braid (for hanging) has been threaded through the eyes on either side. The ends form a thick knot preventing it from pulling out of the eye of the wire.
