Milk jug, silver gilt (regilded), circular, supported on four reversed dolphin feet linked by scrolls, shallow depressed vase-form body, elaborately embossed and chased with a panel of dead gamebirds in a landscape and with an empty assymetrical cartouche flanked by a suspended stag and hare, all amid flowers and scrolls on a matted ground, everted rim applied with a band of stiff leaf; elaborate up-turned spout in the form of a merman issuing from acanthus and blowing a conch shell; ear-shaped handle, with a bifurcated bird-head upper terminal, engraved with feathers.
