Pannikin of red earthenware, standing on an uneven, heavily scorched base, sides flaring to form saucer shape, then continuing straight, ending in a thick, everted lip; hand moulded horizontal loop handle to one side, terminating at the base of the upper body; exterior unglazed, of mottled appearance and heavily scorched, thin, clear glaze on interior and handle.
