Early Medieval human remains
This is a poorly preserved neonate skeleton with under 25% completeness.
The individual was a young adult of 17-25 years. Their gender can't be determined. They are from Burial Phase J: 774-1115 AD
They were buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented West-East.
The individual had possible schmorl nodes. These are pit like depressions in vertebrae caused by strain from herniation. Those hernias would be the result of back strain from either heavy manual labour or from pregnancy.
