Tea bowl and saucer, soft-paste porcelain, the saucer with a footring and ogee side profile, curving outwards to slightly flaring rim the tea bowl with distinct footring, both with fluted sides and concave scalloped rims; both are decorated with the 'Scarlet Japan' pattern, the bodies divided by orange bands with gilt trellis and diaper patterns with stylised flowers in reserve, between which are alternating panels of Kakeimon style flowers in green and red enamel and gilt, and branches of blosson and bamboo stems in blue, green and red enamel with gilt, the interior of the tea bowl is decorated with two complete and one partial stylised flower in orange enamel and gilt, both have gilded rims.
