Automatic grain weighing and delivering machine.

The following notes describing the machines and how they operated were provided by the inventor:

Comprises equal armed weigh beam. The weights are suspended at one end and a receptacle for material to be weighed at the other end.
The receptacle is divided into two compartments which has two combined doors which alternately close one compartment while opening the other, and connected to synchronise deflector at the top of receptacle. The deflector is for the purpose of guiding the material to be weighed into either compartment. The feed hopper is fitted with a gate or sluice, said gate is always tending to close and has a small aperture cut therein for the purpose of the dribble to ensure more correct weighing. There are three catches .(1) to hold feed gate at dribble position and free of beam. (2) to hold weighted lever. (3) bucket door catch. Operation (1) The bucket end of the beam at the empty position opens feed gate, and also lifts weighted lever on to catch. The feed gate is now bearing on beam. When a ceratin amount of material has run into bucket the beam partly descends and frees itself from the feed gate which falls on to its catch and is then held until the determined weight is in the bucket. The beam then further descends and its descent knocks away the catch holding the weighted lever at the light end of which are arranged two trips which knock away feed gate catch and also open bucket door by lifting the door catch. The weight of grain on door in pushing open the door closes the other bucket and again rises and operation is repeated.
