Jug

South Wales Pottery

Jug, whitey-grey biscuit earthenware, the foot-rim a broad raised band around the lower body, cylindrical sides tapering inwards towards the top, plain beak spout, plain loop handle with foliate moulding to the upper and lower terminals; to the body a very broad band with above it a slightly narrower band both of underglaze blue, four narrow bands of underglaze brown to the body, also to the body four mocha decorations of spreading feathery bush-like shapes in brown issuing out of the lowest brown band, the glaze unfired.
