RUG-MAKING EXAMPLES
Rag-rug sample (looped/hooked) made with locker hook on 6x6 inch hessian backing, black (cotton) border with red floral-patterned (cotton) triangles and checked cotton fabric diamond in centre. Alison Morton label tied to sample with hand drawn diagram and note ‘LOCKER HOOK worked from the front with continuous piece of Rag for the loops and strip threaded through the eye of needle for the locking stitch’ AM notebook: ‘During winter 1984/85 Made 6" square samples using the different tools I have collected. 2 Tufted and 2 looped. Black border with different coloured triangles and centres’.
