Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
George Cross awarded to Bert Craig for his rescue of a workman named Jones, buried by a heavy roof fall underground at Nixon's Navigation Colliery, Mountain Ash, on 14 November 1922.
In 1971 the George Cross replaced the Edward medal. Recipients of the Edward Medal were invited to exchange their medals for the George Cross. The Museum also holds Bert Craig’s original award, the Edward medal (Accession No. 73.28H).
