Post-medieval silver gilt finger ring

An incomplete, decorative silver posy-ring with some gilding present. The hoop attachment is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of circular and diamond-shaped cells, the former having small raised quatrefoils, the latter raised single dots. Raised dots fill the field between the cells and the lplain borders. The areas between the raised decoration are inlaid with white enamel, most of which is now mising, with intervening raised gold spots and cells. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text: FANCI... in Roman capitals.
