Dish, square form, pearlware, rounded square sides, flaring to form rim of four large lobes, inner ridge to rim to contain domed cover; central horizontal handle, ridged and collared central section, spreading trefoil terminals; the dish, painted in the centre with a wild dog rose, surrounded by three smaller sprigs of speedwell, a buttercup and a red campion; the cover painted with two sprays of wild roses, a daffodil and a sprig of speedwell; ornate gilt border to rim of dish, interspersed triangles and fleur de lys with scrolls issuing trailing dark green ivy pendants at intervals; the cover with the same border to the rim in reverse so that the dark green foliage appears above the gilt patterning giving the appearance of miniature trees; gilt detailing to handle with feathering to terminals, broad gilt band to outer rim of dish and cover.
