Portrait medallion
Oval medallion, moulded frame, two suspension holes on top edge, with a bust of George Edwards (or Edwardes)(1694-1773) in profile to left, dressed in an open shirt and a loose robe, and wearing his own hair, partly bald. Edwards was a naturalist and ornithologist librarian of the College of Physicans from 1733 and author of History of Birds (1743-64)
