Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Pair of tan leather high-heeled boots worn by television presenter Sian Thomas during the inagural live evening of broadcasting on S4C, 1 November 1982. Along with Robin Jones ann Rowena Jones-Thomas, she was one of the first presnters to appear on the channel.
High-heeled boots made of soft tan leather; they have a moderately pointy toe and are otherwise featureless/unadorned and reach up to lower calf height. They have a leather sole and leather-covered heel, black plastic heel cap and brown ribbed plastic reinforcement at toe. Heel cap would have been moulded around a nail that attaches it to the heel. Upper edge of boot is finished with a c. 2cm width of padded leather. The upper inside is lined with a strip of light brown leather and lower down, the boot is lined with a brown synthetic fabric that has a woven check pattern of shiny and matt yarns. There is a foam interlining.
