A letter from W.P. Crankshaw (Bolton) to Dr Cyril Fox enclosing a copy of his review in The Textile Weekly of M.M. Atwater's The Shuttlecraft Book of American Hand Weaving (New York, 1928). [1929]

Mr Crankshaw explains in his letter that this American book "... contains descriptions and illustrations of counterpanes similar to those which the late Mr Lewis Jones of Lampeter and other Welsh weavers were accustomed to make and of which I think you purchased one or two examples for your Museum ... I hope your textile section has materialised by this time".
