Figure of General Sir James Simpson, white earthenware, standing on a irregularly shaped rectangular plinth that tapers to the left hand side, inscribed in gilt capitals, over a gilt line. Figure in military uniform of white trousers, short high necked jacket with fringed epaulettes, black shoes, hair and sword hanging from in left hand, orange cloak draped over left forearm, pink belt and two pink feathers in cocked hat, holding gilt detailed manuscript in right hand, further gilt detail on uniform ofmedals, tassels, sash across chest. Grey gun emplacement on right hand side with pile of black bullets at base, emplacement supporting two crossed brown flagpoles, lower flag striped red, white, blue from the bottom up, upper flag a white cross on a red and blue ground. White base, brown firing discolouration of upper side.
