Partially Buried
Artist: RIELLY, James
Partially Buried references the 1966 Aberfan disaster. 116 children and 28 adults were killed when a coal tip collapsed, destroying the local primary school. The simplicity of the work conveys a child’s drawing and the silence described by survivors in the immediate aftermath.
