Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Consists of a removable oil lamp, wall-mounting bracket, and a detachable wall plate. The wall plate is a piece of oak, left unfinished on the back but lacquered on the front. To this has been attached with two slotted brass screws, a decorative socketed mount cast in a copper alloy, but with possible evidence of original silvering remaining in the recesses of the pattern. The bracket with a recess for cupping the lamp, is also cast copper alloy with a cast decorative pattern and was also probably originally silvered. The removable oil lamp is constructed from sheet brass and has a white, opal, glass shade. The clear glass chimney is missing but there is still a wick in situ.
