Cup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain, cylindrical cup with an ear-shaped handle, circular saucer with high sides, indented base; decorated with a blue ground, the handle is gilded and the edges are decorated with a gold beaded border, the edge of the cup base is decorated with a gold line border, the central reserve of the saucer is painted with a crowned coat of arms within a gold wreath and surrounded by a gold band over-applied with a jewelled beaded border, the rim of the saucer and the body of the cup are banded with a border of gold ornament over-applied with jewelled beaded decoration, the cup is reserved with a panel containing a portrait of Madame du Barry within a thick gold frame over-applied with a jewelled beaded border.
