Asenbryl, Oldrich (Maker)

Dish of greyish porcelain with barium glaze; circular, standing on a tapering foot rim, with a further raised ring with inset middle in its centre; curved sides and thickened rim; decorated in the centre with a black rectangular transfer print of a 'Charles Atlas' body-builder figure, the ground decorated with low-fired enamels (areas of pink, black lines, a red and blue striped linear motif) and stripes of gold lustre running along and perpendicular to the rim; patches of underglaze pink and greyish pink on both sides; a pink enamel dot disguising a glaze fault near the top edge of the obverse.
