Restored collared rim cinerary urn of grey ware, undecorated, with brick-coloured outer surface. Of tripartite form with slack shoulder, shallow neck and inward sloping collar.
Site Name: Maes-hwyaid Farm, Welsh St. Donats
Notes: From a primary burial in a round barrow, 400 yards south-west of the farm. The urn contained the ring-headed pin (69.121/2), the flint knife (69.121/3) and the burnt bones of a mature person (69.121/4). This is a different round barrow to the one excavated in 1973-74, the finds from which are under accession number 75.36H. The farm has also been referred to as Maes-y-ward. Found during unsupervised excavation.
