ss.PAPAROA (10,005gt) : Built 1944 as a refrigerated cargo liner by Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd., Glasgow, for the New Zealand Shipping Company (part of the P & O Group). She was used primarily on the UK – New Zealand – East Canada runs. 1966 – Transferred to Federal Steam Navigation Company (another member of the P& O Group) and registered in the UK for tax purposes, but managed by New Zealand Shipping Co Ltd. 1970 – renamed MARGARET for her final voyage, and broken up.
