Plate, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; painted with set pattern no.216 - a Japan pattern of stylised flowers in iron red with under-glaze blue leaves edged with gilt; also green foliage, at top of pattern a hovering bird with multi-coloured plumage, and amidst the foliage butterflies and other insects; edged with a narrow border of under-glaze blue with gilt stars, bordered either side with gilt lines.
