Cloth costume doll, bought on Rialto, Venice, May 1909
Venetian stuffed cloth costume doll. Wired limbs. Legs bound with black and red striped material. Stitched features, painted cheeks. Purchased in Rialto, Venice in May 1909. Dressed in a black and white checked long sleeve shirt with a gold and yellow high neck collar. Skirt is white with pale blue spots with a white and blue striped apron tied around the waist with a pale lilac silk band which is deteriorating. Head is covered with a black head covering decorated with green/red tartan and red scraps.
