A 'Tilley' oil lamp which could be hand-held or stood on a flat surface. A dome-shaped copper container for the oil. A knob for pumping oil into the wick. A vertical metal tube from the oil container with the wick at the top. The height of the lamp can be adjusted by a screw in the tube. A glass cover, cracked, around the wick. Around the glass cover is a wire mesh. A curved metal lid over the wick which allows the lamp to be carried when in use without the heat going directly up on the handle. Two vertical wire arms from the container with a ring at the top of each for the handle made of twisted wire.
